All you need to know about Saint-Valery-sur-Somme beach

At the end of the quays of our campsite in Saint-Valery-sur-Sommebelow the old town, lies a jewel: the beach of Saint-Valery, with its little bathing cabins and its magnificent view over the Bay of the Somme, which has been awarded the “Grand Site de France” label. You reach the beach by walking along the quays. It’s located opposite the port, at the end of the pier.

Is it possible to swim in Saint-Valery?

We’d better warn you right away: swimming is forbidden on the beach at Saint Valery sur Somme! Why can’t we swim? Firstly, for safety reasons due to the strong tidal currents, but also because of the average quality of the water.

Can you take your dog to the beach? Dogs are allowed on a leash, but not on the coastal path.
